Statement
Accessibility
MCHistoryBuilder aims to be usable by everyone. We follow the WCAG 2.1 guidelines at level AA. Below is what we do for that, and what does not fully work yet.
What works
- Keyboard. Everything can be reached with Tab. A link at the top jumps straight to the tool. In the drawings you move block by block with the arrow keys and click with Enter or Space.
- Screen readers. Every drawing has a description, buttons and fields have a name, and the headings are in the right order.
- Contrast. All text reaches a contrast of at least 4.5 to 1, in the light and in the dark view. We check this with our own test on every page.
- Zoom. The pages work up to 400% zoom and on a screen 320 pixels wide, without scrolling sideways.
- Calm. If your system asks for less motion, you see no tilted notes and no moving parts.
- No time limits. Take as long as you like. Your progress stays in your own browser.
What does not fully work yet
- The 3D preview is a drawing. Everything in it is also in the layer-by-layer build plan and the tables, which a screen reader can read.
- The block colours in the drawings come from Minecraft itself. That is why every layer also says in words which block goes where.
- The decorative letters in the headings can be harder to read. The explanations and all settings use a plain reading font.
